Prof. Wagner hat in Augsburg und Edinburgh studiert und in München promoviert. Seit 2011 ist er Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Empirisches Software Engineering an der Universität Stuttgart. Seine Schwerpunkte sind dabei Software-Qualität, Requirements Engineering, Safety/Security/Privacy Engineering, kontinuierliche und agile Entwicklung und Software Engineering für Künstliche Intelligenz.
